From: Dave Buck, president and CEO of CoachVille
Dear Coach,
I
started coaching in 1997 and since then I have met and trained
thousands of coaches. In all the years since I started in the industry,
I have had a thriving coaching business. Since becoming president of
CoachVille nearly two years ago, my interest has turned to not only
having a thriving business myself, but to helping the thousands of
CoachVille members do the same.
In
my quest to make that happen, I have come to understand there is one
key thing separating successful coaches from the vast majority that are
struggling to make it: certainty.
What
do I mean by that? Well, let's face it, coaching is a hard sell to
begin with. You've been at the networking event where you go up to
someone, introduce yourself and wait for the dreaded question. "So,
what do you do?" the person asks. "I'm a coach." Blank stare. And then,
you'll get one of the old stand-bys - "What sport?" or "What's that?"
As a new industry, we face the task of educating the public about what we do. The first critical component of doing that is certainty.
You need certainty that coaching works. You need certainty that you can
help the person accomplish what they want to accomplish. You need
certainty that what you offer to potential clients is worth the money
you want to charge for it. You need certainty that your coaching skills
are on the cutting edge.
But what if you don't have certainty? Can you develop it? And how?
The
truth is that one of the main reasons the vast majority of coaches are
struggling is that they DON'T have certainty. So you're not alone. And,
yes, with the right information, tools and guidance, you can develop it
much faster than you think.
Certification Is a Fast Track To Certainty
It
was with the intention of helping coaches develop strong coaching
skills (and, in turn, certainty in those skills) that we designed the
CoachVille Certified Coach Program. The product of years of R&D,
honing and real-world testing, the body of knowledge upon which the
CoachVille Certified Coach Program is based is a solid approach to
evoking the greatness and untapped potential in your clients and
yourself.
If
you're out there in this competitive market, you need the designation
that is quickly becoming the industry standard. You need the credential
that will set you apart from other coaches and related professionals.
The CV Certified Coach Program gives you a unique edge. Here's why:
* It trains you to have a high impact on your clients - and satisfied clients are your best referral engine.
* It demonstrates to the world that you are a highly effective coach that has met rigorous standards in order to earn CoachVille Certified Coach status.
* It's the only LIVE certifying event of its kind based on the most comprehensive coaching framework around - the 15 Proficiencies
* It helps you leverage your existing expertise to dramatically improve your effectiveness as a coach
* It teaches you to sell what people are actually buying (and we'll reveal to you just what that is)
* It shows you how to craft tempting offers to attract high-level clients
Can I Really Get Certified
In One Weekend?
At CoachVille, we are committed to promoting the most rigorous standards
to dramatically raise the visibility and credibility of the coaching
profession. So, unlike many other training programs you've seen out
there, we do NOT claim you can learn everything you need to get
certified in one weekend. NOT BY A LONG SHOT.
Our CoachVille Certified Coach Live Intensive is only for 2 types of coaches:
* Students of the Thomas Leonard School of Coaching or Schools of CoachVille
* Coaches who have extensive training from another coach training
organization, familiarity with the 15 Proficiencies AND who have passed
Step 1 of the IAC Certification.
Our live event gives you a deep and profound live coaching experience and help you meet the requirements
for your live coaching demos and interview. Essentially, you accomplish
in one weekend what under normal circumstances can take you many weeks
or months - finding a client willing to let you record your session,
submitting it to a certifier and setting up an interview and getting a
decision about your certification.
So,
by attending our Certified Coach Intensive you are DRAMATICALLY
reducing the time it will take you to achieve certification. Plus, you
don't have to approach the steps in any particular order... you can
attend the certification weekend and then complete your TLC or SOC
courses or IAC test Part 1.
Plus, the live Certification Event offers you many benefits you can't get anywhere else:
* Real-time feedback about your coaching style and skills, plus practical advice about how to improve
* The chance to see live coaching demos by master coaches
* The ability to learn by watching your fellow participants, plus
engaging in detailed debriefs about what worked, what didn't and why
How Much Great Coaching
Have You Seen?
If
you're lucky, you've had great coaching from your own coach (you do
have a coach, don't you?). If you're REALLY lucky, you've seen some
masterful front-of-the-room coaching demos that really work, or have
heard some great coaching on a few teleclasses. And, if you're like
most coaches, that's about it.
Isn't
that nuts? How can you be expected to do something you haven't seen
done well more than a few times? Coaching is like dancing. It is
definitely NOT something you can learn in theory. You've got to
EXPERIENCE it, feel it in your body, understand it in your soul. It
goes WAY beyond the theory you can learn from a book. Imagine a surgeon
attempting complicated surgery without having ever observed it, or a
lawyer trying to put together a great closing argument without ever
having been to court. So why should you try to coach without first
observing a lot of coaching?
One
of the best things about our Certified Coach Intensive event is the
masterful live coaching you'll experience. Conducted by one of our
master certifiers, all of whom have been studying and teaching the 15
Proficiencies for years, live coaching will help you see the theory in
action.
What's
more, during the intense weekend experience, you'll have the chance to
play coach, client and observer as you first practice your coaching and
then demonstrate it for the certifiers. Which means that by the time
the weekend is done, you'll have critical insight into not just why
you're a great coach or where you can use some improvement, but also
into WHY and HOW coaching work - and how you can make sure your skills
stay on the cutting edge of the profession.
You'll
have the tools you need to understand the inner workings of coaching -
what to look for as an effective change agent so that you can help
people make profound changes in their lives... fast.
You'll learn:
* How NOT to miss those golden moments - coachable opportunities
* How to help a client who is stuck
* How to distinguish between a nice chat and impactful coaching- and how to quickly turn the former into the latter
* How to make sure your client is getting value from your work together - one of the key skills to retaining clients and earning higher coaching fees
* How to listen beneath the surface for what the client really needs and masterfully uncover it quickly
Two Ways To Play Live or virtual
But Don't Just Take Our Word For It
Hear what recent participants have to say
The
Boston live certifying event was amazing. My husband and I have both
had a tremendous amount of coach training from a variety of coaching
institutions and have had literally hundreds of
clients for many years. And we both believe that this weekend
definitely brought our coaching abilities to a new level. Those who
have not had as much coaching experience would be very wise to attend
future events like this for an excellent jump start. Having the
opportunity to coach and receive live feedback from very competent
certifiers, watch others coach and be critiqued was a great learning
experience. Even if a coach was not quite ready to become certified at
the event, the learning from excellent and experienced coaches is
certainly worth the trip! Thanks for all that you and the CV staff did
to make this "live" event SO ALIVE :-)

As
a new member of Coachville, I did not have much insight or background
on what to expect. I was very impressed with the entire weekend for the
following reasons:
1.)
All of the Leaders and Coachville members were impressive in their own
right and sincere in wanting to help each other be the best that they
could be. 2.) the content of the weekend was on track and
valuable as a learning experience, particularly the opportunity to
really coach and receive immediate feedback.
3.) the lessons learned were available in high quantity since we could
participate in the observation of coaching by some very experienced
people and the situations were quite realistic and instructive.
4.) I was able to immediately apply my increased knowledge and skill in
a managing/ leading role with my consulting firm. My staff reported
that I was different and improved in my inspiration for them. We all
benefited.
5.) I can see possibilities to slant our consulting firm approaches and
strategies that could open new business opportunities and recruit a new
type of person into our firm. All of these accomplishments are a direct
result of Coachville's leadership and willingness to push the boundary
of coaching. Thank you to Dave, you and all the leaders for your
efforts. I expect to become further involved with Coachville, and look
forward to meeting again at the Annual Meeting in New Orleans . I hope
to bring some of my other staff and even clents.

The
weekend was handled very well by the certifiers and the others at
Coachville. I believe we all received exceptional value, and were
given the opportunity to learn so much about what exceptional coaching
is all about. Pass or fail, we all grew in positive ways.
I want to thank, once again, all those responsible for making the
Boston weekend happen. It was quite a learning experience and I have
no doubt that all involved will make the next event even better. For
those thinking of attending the next event, I highly recommend that you
do so. And you will be grateful for the bonding that occurs in just a
short time. The opportunity to meet super people will be there.

The
weekend was professionally handled and intensive. I found the
certification process to be meaningful and a great learning
opportunity. [The certifiers] took [their] work so seriously and gave
excellent feedback. I loved that [they] picked up on so many nuances
and that [their] understanding of the proficiencies was so masterful.
A great bond was built and the coaching became more and more effective
and safe for each "client" as the weekend progressed. I came home
feeling fully expressed and accepted. What a bonus!

This program is designed for coaches who are ready for an intense experience
No question, our weekend intensive is not for everyone.
You will learn how to...
Your investment is only $750
-
just 2 new clients covers it
There
are less robust certification programs out there selling for 5 times as
much as our price point. So why are we charging only $750? Well, for
starters, we believe that in order to turn the coaching revolution out
into the world, we need to certify all great coaches - not just the
ones who can afford to pay high fees. Also - we ****
If
the certainty and savvy you gain, along with the recognizable
credential of CoachVille Certified Coach, gets you just 2 new clients
(and we think it will get you much more than that) then you'll cover
your investment in one month's time. So isn't it time you invested in
your professional development and added the credential of "CoachVille
Certified Coach" to your résumé?
We are Coming to a City Near You
After
a highly successful test in limited cities in 2004, we are launching
our certification program across the US and in England in 2005. In
order to give the kind of intense one-on-one feedback from our highly
skilled certifiers that produce the remarkable breakthroughs our
participants experienced in 2004, we are strictly limiting the number
of participants that we'll accept at each event. After an event is sold
out... that's it. No more events will be held in that city until 2006.
So don't miss your chance to be among the first CoachVille Certified
Coaches.
Click here to see where we'll be holding certification events in 2005. Our
exclusive certification events are limited to a small number of
attendees so we can ensure the high level of quality our participants
have come to expect. So once they're filled, that's it. Sign up today
to avoid missing your opportunity to participate.
Who Shouldn't Enroll:
* People unfamiliar with the 15 Proficiencies
* Coaches with little or no experience coaching clients
* Students who do not intend to enroll in the Thomas Leonard School or
pass Part 1 of the IAC certification exam, as these are requirements
for completing your certification.
